Interstates Instrumentation is an Endress+Hauser authorized service provider.

Many of our clients’ facilities require telephone support services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Other clients may only require daily onsite or telephone support.

Asset Management
Asset management systems continue to add value to the operations of leading facilities and plants.  These systems allow for improved maintenance systems and reduced downtime.

Interstates Instrumentation provides the documentation and software necessary to deploy an asset management solution. We offer customized asset management solutions supplied by a variety of vendors. Interstates Instrumentation also provides asset management system training and supports our customers in its implementation.

Recent improvements in instrumentation technology make predictive maintenance feasible.  Advanced diagnostics at each transmitter with the advent of process diagnostics can be tied into a comprehensive asset management system allowing for informed maintenance and operations decision making. 

Typical instruments have in excess of 100 device parameters.  Access to these parameters through an asset management system has reduced the time to diagnose an issue and avoid unplanned downtime.

Interstates Instrumentation assets management solutions have the capability to allow for remote access to the field devices.  Remote access can be extremely powerful when the troubleshooting requires the expertise of engineers or technicians not readily available at the facility location.

Maintenance Planning
A well-planned predictive maintenance program utilizing smart instrumentation with an online health monitoring system can result in significant maintenance savings over the life of an instrument and facility.

Studies indicate that maintenance costs vary greatly depending on the type of maintenance program utilized.  For many years preventive maintenance provided the most cost-effective system for maintenance. However, preventive maintenance can be five times more expensive than predictive maintenance due to the unnecessary service performed. 

Additionally, reactive maintenance can be as much as 15 times more expensive than predictive maintenance.  Waiting for a device to fail in a reactive maintenance scheme may cause downtime resulting in costs exceeding 40 times the cost of predictive maintenance.

Interstates Instrumentation consults with our clients to develop maintenance programs that are based on predictive and preventive maintenance schemes. We also help our customers assess their exposure to reactive maintenance and the impact unexpected downtime may have on their profits.
